What a Tuesday - the tension between art theft and giving is a live and well! As a reminder, it is Giving Tuesday, so prioritize a non-profit organization that you love or care about and give a little bit more today. Most organizations have double impact because of other donor gifts, so you can maximize your gift (and before the end of the year!). I have been drawn to a few stories that involve deaccessions (Valparaiso University) or questionable provenances (Edward Hopper and a minister friend - the drama is unfolding). I am attracted to these stories for various reasons, but most of all it is interesting to see how art is treated mainly as an asset. I include another review of The Met European galleries. I re-visited them this past Sunday and they are stunning. I am excited to plan some tours around them ( pretty overwhelming with 45 galleries to choose from). And I end the dispatch with a full-length documentary of the AIDS Quilt in commemoration of World Aids Day (December 1). I remember meeting Cleve Jones (creator of the AIDS Quilt) in San Francisco years ago and I was always inspired by his focus on individual stories. He made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. I have always admired this quality in leaders. Hope you all have a great week. Enjoy!
